I start with Rose bouquets from Weddings, Memorials & Special Occasions.
This is a time consuming process. The petals are slowly cooked, then ground into a mash.
The rose mash is then baked in a cast iron pan, which creates the black color. This process can take several days.
Next they are shaped into beads and allowed to dry for several days. Then hand sanded & polished to a smooth finish, and finally crafted into Keepsake Rose Bead Jewelry. The entire process takes a minimum of four weeks.
Rose beads made from fresh roses are an endeavor from early history. They originated with the making of Rosary beads for the Catholic Church.
